Gov't Warns N. Korea of Unbearable Punishment

The government has warned North Korea that it will face an "unbearable punishment" from the international community should it engage in another provocation.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Cho June-hyuck issued the warning on Tuesday, following North Korean media reports about Kim Jong-un's plans for more nuclear and missile tests.

Referring to Kim's instructions for diversifying warhead delivery methods, the spokesman said the South Korean government and the international community will not, by any means, tolerate such provocations.

He said if the North pushes forward with another provocation that directly challenges the international community’s united front, it will come to face an unbearable punishment and ultimately head toward self-destruction.
