An industry report has asserted that Samsung’s brand value is worth about 83-point-one billion U.S. dollars, or about 99 trillion won.
The U.K.-based global consultancy Brand Finance said in its report titled “The Brand Finance Global 500 2016" that Samsung’s brand value increased one-point-eight percent from 2015 when it was rated at 81-point-seven billion dollars.
The consultancy put Samsung third on the list of the highest-valued brands behind Apple and Google, respectively.
It used the Brand Strength Index(BSI), brand loyalty, and the brand’s sales in calculating each company's brand worth.
Apple topped the list with a brand value of 145-point-nine billion dollars, an increase of 14 percent from last year when it was valued at 128-point-three billion dollars.
Google rose to second on the list with an estimated brand value of 94-point-two billion dollars. Amazon was ranked fourth with 69-point-six billion dollars and Microsoft fifth with 67-point-two billion dollars.
