Chinese Drone Maker DJI Enters S. Korean Market

A Chinese drone manufacturer, DJI, will enter the South Korean market.

The DJI Flagship Store will open Saturday in Seoul's Hongik University area as the company's very first overseas store.

The five-story building with four underground floors will serve as a showroom for DJI's signature drone products. It also includes an after service center and a specialized space where visitors can view demonstrations by pilots.

DJI on Friday unveiled its most recent product, the Phantom 4. It's the world's first drone to be equipped with artificial intelligence technology.

It automatically steers clear of obstacles and follows a programmed target. It can also be maneuvered using a smartphone.

The Chinese firm is the leader in the global consumer drone market, commanding a 70 percent market share.
