47% of Senior Women in S. Korea Feel Unhealthy

Nearly half of senior women in South Korea consider themselves to be in bad health although they live longer than their male counterparts.

According to data from the country's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) on Friday, the average life expectancy of South Korean women was 84-point-one years as of 2010, six-point-nine years longer than 77-point-two years for South Korean men.

Despite the longevity, the CDC said in its latest female health report that 47-point-three percent of the surveyed women ages 65 or older negatively evaluated their heath condition.

Among South Korean women between the ages of 45 and 64, 27-point-two percent held a negative view of their health.
