North Korea has unveiled pictures showing what appears to be a replica of a nuclear warhead for the KN-08 intercontinental ballistic missile(ICBM).
The Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the North’s ruling Workers’ Party, carried several photos on Wednesday of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un speaking to scientists and technicians about the regime's development of nuclear weapons.
The photos showed four or five KN-08 missiles similar to those unveiled by the North during a massive military parade in Pyongyang held in October in celebration of the founding of the Workers’ Party 70 years ago.
Kim appeared to be issuing an order, pointing to the blurred blueprint of the KN-08 warhead, although what he was ordering and the details of the blueprint could not be confirmed.
The newspaper also said that Kim complimented the North Korean scientists for miniaturizing nuclear warheads enough to fit them onto a ballistic missile by "standardizing" them.
