S. Korea to Set Up Booth at Foodex Japan 2016

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs said Monday that it will set up a South Korean food booth at the 41st International Food and Beverage Exhibition in Tokyo.

The event, also called Foodex Japan 2016, will open in Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture from Tuesday for a four-day run.

The Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation will host the booth. Six local governments and 88 food and beverage industries will take part and promote South Korean foods, including kimchi and ginseng.

The Agriculture Ministry is hoping that taking part in the exhibition will lead to the expansion of exports of diverse South Korean food products to Japan.

Foodex Japan 2016 will see the participation of some three-thousand food and beverage firms from roughly 80 countries. Around 77-thousand buyers from around the world are set to check out the event.
