'Kim's Verbal Terrorism Only Tarnishes His Honor'

The government has expressed "strong regret" over North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's latest slander of the South Korean president.

Unification Ministry Spokesman Jeong Joon-hee on Friday addressed Kim's verbal attacks on President Park Geun-hye.

Calling Kim's remarks verbal terrorism, the spokesman said Seoul hopes the North will drop its cliche attitude of slandering the South Korean leader with vulgar language and instead move towards improving inter-Korean ties.

Jeong added that such slandering only tarnishes the North and its leadership’s honor.

On Kim’s remarks that the North must always be ready to fire its nuclear weapons at any time, Jeong said the North’s leader apparently made the comments to express defiance to fresh UN sanctions and to promote the solidarity of the North’s regime.
