The Transport Ministry has ordered Honda Korea to recall over seven-thousand-600 vehicles that span seven models including the Civic FD1.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said Friday the cars contain Japan-made Takata airbags that can hurl metal shards at passengers in the event of a crash.

The recall comes amid a global regulatory crackdown on the Japanese car parts maker whose airbags are allegedly linked to ten deaths and at least 100 injuries according to the New York Times.

The ministry will also recall two-thousand-400 Passat TDIs of Audi Volkswagen Korea due to defects that can lead to the cars’ sudden engine stop.
