Audi Volkswagen Korea is expected to begin recalling from as early as the end of next month vehicles that were found to have cheated emissions tests.
Audi Volkswagen Korea said Thursday that it submitted a recall plan to the Ministry of Environment on Wednesday.
The plan includes the scope of the recall and ways to improve defects. Some models are expected to be recalled from as early as the end of April.
Some 125-thousand cars are expected to be subject to the upcoming recall.
Currently, Audi Volkswagen Korea is being probed by prosecutors as the Ministry of Environment filed two complaints with the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office against Audi Volkswagen Korea and its chief, Johannes Thammer.
The German firm faces allegations of failing to draw up a proper recall plan in response to its emissions-rigging scandal.
