31 S. Koreans Listed on Forbes' 2016 Billionaire List

The number of South Koreans listed on Forbes’ 2016 billionaire list reached 31, up one from last year.

Samsung Group Chairman Lee Kun-hee was the richest among the 31 Koreans, ranking 112th with his total net assets estimated at nine-point-six billion U.S. dollars. Lee slipped two spots from a year ago. 

CEO of cosmetics manufacturer AmorePacific, Suh Kyung-bae jumped 37 spots to 148th with seven-point-seven billion dollars in assets.

Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jay-yong, Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Mong-koo, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won and Hyundai Motor Vice Chairman Chung Eui-sun ranked between 200th and 600th on the list.

Hanmi Pharmaceutical Group Chairman Lim Sung-ki made the list for the first time this year.
