Stock Market Sees Rises Wednesday

South Korean shares rose on Wednesday, after the markets closed on Tuesday in observance of the nation's 97th anniversary of March 1st Movement Day.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) added 30-point-76 points, or one-point-six percent, to close at one-thousand-947-point-42 on Wednesday.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose ten-point-63 points, or one-point-63 percent, to 662-point-25.

On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency strengthened nine-point-two won against the U.S. dollar to one-thousand-227-point-five won.
