S. Korea, Iran Agree to Deepen Cooperation in Various Fields

South Korea's trade minister has held a series of meetings with high-ranking Iranian officials, underscoring the importance of bilateral cooperation on infrastructure construction.

During his ongoing visit to Iran, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Joo Hyung-hwan met with Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi, Iran's central bank Governor Valiollah Seif and other high-profile Iranian officials.

Joo agreed with his counterparts to increase cooperation between the two countries not only in trade but also in other various areas such as technology investment, financial assistance and personnel exchange.

The Iranian officials welcomed the participation by South Korean companies in major infrastructure projects in Tehran, while requesting financial assistance from Seoul.
