'N. Korea Will not Die However it is Sanctioned'

The head of North Korea’s reconnaissance bureau reportedly said that North Korea will not die however it is sanctioned.

Kim Yong-chol, who was recently appointed as the North’s Workers’ Party secretary handling inter-Korean affairs, made the remarks during a meeting with CEO Park Sang-kwon of North Korean automobile company Pyeonghwa Motors.

Park, an American citizen, said during an interview with KBS that he met Kim for about 100 minutes on February 20 in Pyongyang.

Park quoted Kim as saying that North Korea has not lived a single day without sanctions and will not die from them.

Kim is known to have said that South Korea was the first to have shut down the Gaeseong Industrial Complex, but it is he who ordered the closure of the complex and expulsion of South Korean workers.
