China's Imports Plunge 18% in January

China’s imports plunged more than 18 percent in January, but its imports from South Korea and Japan shrank less.
 
South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said on Sunday that China’s imports posted 114-point-two billion U.S. dollars in January, down 18-point-six percent year-on-year.
 
Among the top five exporters dominating China’s import market, the United States was hit hardest with China’s imports from the U.S. tumbling 27 percent during the period.
 
China’s imports from Germany and Taiwan also shrank 20-point-nine percent and 18-point-seven percent, respectively.
 
However, China’s imports from South Korea and Japan decreased 14-point-six percent and 16 percent, respectively.
