Spring Flowers Likely to Bloom 1-2 Days Earlier This Year

The blooming of spring flowers in South Korea is forecast to come one to two days earlier this year compared to previous years.

Private weather service provider Kweather projected on Wednesday that spring flowers will bloom earlier this year as temperatures for late February and March are forecast to be slightly higher than previous years.

Forsythias are expected to begin blooming in Seogwipo, Jeju Island around March 14th; southern regions around March 15th to 25th; and central regions between March 25th and 30th.

The yellow harbinger of spring will spread to northern Gyeonggi and Gangwon provinces after April first.

Spring flowers are expected to reach peak bloom in Seoul around April second to third. It typically takes a week for spring flowers to reach full bloom.
