The South Korean government is soon expected to suspend its humanitarian aid to North Korea in the wake of its repeated provocations.

Unification Ministry Spokesman Jeong Joon-hee revealed the plan during a briefing Wednesday.

Asked if goods sent as part of South Korea's humanitarian aid can be diverted in the North, Jeong said that such aid programs will inevitably be affected by the current state of inter-Korean relations.

The spokesman added that there is no change in the government’s plans for helping infants and the vulnerable in North Korea.
