The South Korean military has assured that it is ready to deal with any possible emergency at the Gaeseong Industrial Complex in North Korea.

In the wake of the South's decision to evacuate South Korean workers at the factory park, Defense Ministry Spokesman Moon Sang-kyun addressed the inter-Korean tension during a regular briefing Thursday.

He said that the military puts the people’s lives and safety first and is prepared for any contingencies.

The Seoul government announced on Wednesday plans to shut down the industrial complex in response to the North’s recent provocations and started taking steps to evacuate its nationals and equipment from the factory zone.
