Gov't to Expand Info. Security Firms' Exports to 4.5 Trillion Won by 2020

The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning has unveiled plans to help domestic information security industries advance into foreign markets.

During a meeting of economy-related ministers on Wednesday, the ministry said it will expand exports of domestic information security firms to four-and-a-half trillion won by 2020 and foster 250 related industries that will make inroads into foreign countries.

To achieve the goal, the ministry will set up strategic bases overseas and reinforce information security firms’ capability of advancing into foreign markets.

The ministry will also establish a support system with other government agencies in helping such firms as well as foster what it called “global security star” companies and one-thousand related experts.
