The Korea Employers Federation(KEF) has recommended its member companies to freeze wages for this year.

The federation made the announcement on Tuesday during a regular general meeting.

The KEF also pointed out that companies will be able to hire more workers by lowering the starting pay of regular employees with four-year college degrees who receive more than 36 million won a year.

It said that the recommendations are aimed at creating jobs for young people and reducing wage disparities.
