S. Koreans Regard Parent's Wealth as No. 1 Condition for Success

A new survey finds that South Korean workers believe that parental wealth is the number one condition for success.

An online job portal Job Korea and Albamon, a Web site that provides information on part-time jobs, surveyed one-thousand-365 employees.

Forty-one percent of respondents regarded the wealth of one's parents as holding the most leverage over the condition for success. Nearly 14 percent cited connections and interpersonal skills.

An individual's competence, academic background and sincerity rounded out the top five.

By age group, those in their 30s made up the largest proportion that selected parental wealth at 46 percent.

The survey also found that 92 percent of respondents believe that looks can provide a competitive edge in achieving success.
