Unification Ministry Launches TF on N. Korea Nuke Issue

A new task force charged with handling matters related to North Korea's nuclear program and peace on the Korean Peninsula has been launched.

The Ministry of Unification said the task force kicked off operations on Tuesday with Kim Eui-do, the former spokesman of the ministry, at the helm.

A ministry official also told reporters earlier on Tuesday that the selection of five members for the task force, which will be under the ministry, has been finalized.

The official said the direction of the group's operations will be unveiled after internal discussions.

During its policy briefing to the president on January 22, the Unification Ministry said it will set up a task force that will devise policy aimed at advancing efforts to denuclearize North Korea.
