Data: Average Wedding Costs Surged Nearly 40 Million Won in 1 Year

South Korean newlyweds spend an average 274 million won preparing for their marriage.

According to a report by wedding consulting company Duo Wed compiled with data from one-thousand people who got married in the last two years, the amount is up some 36 million won compared to a survey carried out last year.
 
Housing costs accounted for nearly 70 percent of wedding preparations, standing at around 192 million won. That’s up 23 million won from last year.
 
Some 20 million won were found to be spent on the wedding venue, while more than ten million won were spent on wedding gifts and goods.
