N. Korea Places Last in Internet User Population Survey

A new survey says North Korea suffers from the lowest Internet penetration in the world.

Voice of America(VOA) on Friday cited the “Digital in 2016” report recently released by international marketing agency “We Are Social.”

According to the report, around seven-thousand North Koreans, or only zero-point-03 percent of the nation's population, are using the Internet.

VOA said North Korea was at the bottom of the 214 surveyed countries and lags far behind Niger, which placed 213th with two percent of the population connected to the Internet.

The report also showed that around six-thousand-800 North Koreans are accessing social media through computers, while four thousand are using social networks via mobile devices such as smartphones.
