Report: The 2016 Drone Show Korea opened at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center on Thursday with the participation of some one-thousand experts from both home and abroad.
The event is the first drone exhibition to be held in the nation and the largest in scale to be hosted in Asia.
A total of 56 drone-related companies have set up roughly 200 booths to display their unmanned aerial vehicles(UAV) and technologies.
Around 100 drones alone are on exhibit that can be utilized in a wide array of ways, ranging from military use to disaster relief and leisure activities.
Some of the firms on hand plan to put their latest drones on display for the first time in Asia. They were models disclosed at a global electronics products show held recently in the U.S.
Twenty-four South Korean and foreign experts, including Kenzo Nonami of Japan’s Chiba University, will give lectures on the usage and filming of drones as well as related patents.
Officials from Busan Metropolitan City and Yeongwol County, which have been selected by the government as regions for drone trial projects, as well as universities that have aerospace engineering departments, will also take part in the drone show and share their latest technologies.
