South Korean firms were found to have dominated nearly half of the global market for desktop monitors and notebook display panels last year.
 
According to market researcher WitsView, LG Display ranked first in the global monitor panels market last year with a share of 29-point-two percent. Samsung Display came in fifth with a market share of 13-point-nine percent.
 
LG Display was also number one in the notebook panels market as its share reached 26-and-a-half percent. Samsung Display ranked fourth with its market share amounting to 17-point-two percent.
 
The combined market share of LG and Samsung products in the global monitor and notebook panels market reached nearly 50 percent.
