Radio Free Asia says that North Koreans are resisting the government’s strong crackdown on street vendors.
 
The U.S. broadcaster quoted multiple sources familiar with North Korean affairs as saying that North Korean authorities conducted an intensive crackdown on alley vendors called “grasshoppers” from June to December last year.
 
The sources reportedly said that the lower-class North Korean vendors struggling to survive resisted strongly during the crackdown.
