All Passengers Held up at Jeju Airport Depart

All passengers who were held up at Jeju International Airport due to heavy snow have been able to leave the southern resort island.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said that a total of 413 passenger planes had departed from Jeju International Airport between Monday afternoon, when airport operations resumed, and 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The resumption of services came after a 45-hour shutdown due to heavy snow and an unrelenting cold spell.

Three-hundred-42 of the flights were domestic which provided 67-thousand-599 seats. A total of 71 flights were international and supplied roughly 10-thousand-800 seats.

As a result, all passengers who had been stranded on Jeju Island were able to leave.
