Hyundai Grows Faster than Other Foreign Automaker in Mexico

Hyundai Motor has significantly increased its shares in the Mexican car market, posting the fastest growth among foreign brands last year.

South Korea’s leading carmaker said Wednesday that it sold 26-thousand-251 cars in Mexico last year, up 117 percent from 12-thousand-64 in 2014.

It was the highest sales growth last year among all automakers selling cars in Mexico.

The company said last year it also outsold all automakers that do not have a production assembly in Mexico.

Meanwhile, including those manufacturing cars in Mexico, Hyundai was the ninth largest car seller in the country, the first time it made it to the top 10 in the country.

Hyundai Motor expects it will continue to grow in Mexico this year, saying the Mexican market has grown rapidly compared with other emerging economies. It added it will try to increase its sales through active marketing schemes.
