Gov't Safeguards Nuclear Plants from Drones

The government will devise measures to respond to possible threats to the nation's nuclear power plants, such as unmanned drone or cyber terror attacks.

The Nuclear Safety and Security Commission unveiled the plan in a 2016 policy briefing on Tuesday.

In the wake of North Korea's recent nuclear test earlier this month, the commission said it also plans to enhance its capability to detect and analyze radionuclides from nuclear activities.

It will introduce a set of regulations needed to properly deal with serious accidents at nuclear power plants while strengthening safety measures at disposal facilities handling low and medium levels of radioactive waste.
