KOSPI Jumps 2% on ECB Stimulus Hopes

South Korean shares jumped more than two percent on Friday fueled by the prospect of more stimulus from the European Central Bank.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) shot up 38-point-90 points, or two-point-11 percent, to finish the week at one-thousand-879-point-43.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also gained five-point-11 points, or zero-point-77 percent, to close at 670-point-95.

On the Seoul foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency strengthened 13-point-six won against the U.S. dollar, to end trading at one-thousand-200-point-one won.
