KOSPI Lowest in Five Months

South Korean shares headed further south on Thursday.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) inched down four-point-92 points, or zero-point-27 percent, to finish at one-thousand-840-point-53. 

The closing figure was the lowest since August 24, 2015, when the stock markets faltered on instability in the Chinese market. 

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also shed three-point-84 points, or zero-point-57 percent, to close at 665-point-84.  

On the Seoul foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency strengthened zero-point-three won against the U.S. dollar to close at one-thousand-213-point-seven won.
