The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) closed lower on Wednesday, falling 44-point-19 points, or two-point-34 percent.

The index closed at one-thousand-845-point-45, making a slight recovery after flopping as low as the one-thousand-830 level during the session from foreign investors’ selling.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also declined eleven-point-57 points, or one-point-70 percent, to 669-point-68.
 
On the Seoul foreign exchange market, the local currency depreciated eight-point-one won against the greenback to close at one-thousand-214 won, recording the weakest level since July 19, 2010.
