Venture Investments Hit Record High in 2015

Investments in venture firms in South Korea hit a record high last year.

The Small and Medium Business Administration(SMBA) said on Tuesday that funds invested in ventures came to two trillion 85-point-eight billion won last year, up 27 percent from the previous year.

The figure is larger than the previous record of two trillion and 21-point-one billion won set in 2000.

The number of businesses investing reached one-thousand-45 last year, up 16 percent from the previous year.

The SMBA attributed the increased investment to an expansion of infrastructure for startups and increase of technology-based startups.
