Youth Jobless Rate Hits 9.2 Percent

The youth unemployment rate has hit a record high nine-point-two percent.
 
According to a report by state-run Statistics Korea Wednesday, the jobless rate for the nation's youth rose zero-point-two percentage points in 2015 from the year before.

This is the highest ever since tallying standards were changed in 1999.
 
The male youth unemployment rate was ten-point-six percent, while the female youth jobless rate was seven-point-eight percent. Both were record highs.
 
The overall unemployment rate last year was three-point-six percent, the highest in the last five years. Over 25-point-93 million people were employed last year, up by 337-thousand on-year. The employment rate was 60-point-three percent, up zero-point-one percentage points from the year before.
