Report: South Korean electronics giant LG Electronics is drawing attention at this year's Consumer Electronics Show, better known as the CES.
On Press Day showcasing back-to-back press conferences by companies a day before the four-day event kicks off in Las Vegas, the show's official CES Daily said the majority of social media postings about the consumer electronics event featured the name LG.
Internet data analyzing firm BuzzRadar said out of some 165-thousand comments regarding CES posted on SNS on Tuesday, 39 percent were about LG.
SNS users, in particular, showed great interest in LG’s ultra organic light-emitting diode, or OLED, TV and flexible OLED display.
LG’s ultra OLED TV featuring a flat 77-inch screen received the 2016 CES Innovation Award.
Samsung ranked second followed by Intel, Ford and Panasonic.
It's not just the big names attracting visitors at this year's CES. The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency said Thursday that it installed a Korea Pavilion at the electronics trade show.
The agency invited some 400 U.S. retailers, including Walmart, Amazon, Newegg, Target and Costco, to the pavilion and arranged one-on-one consultations with 35 South Korean small-and mid-sized companies.
The trade agency said it will actively support the participating firms so that they may enter the U.S. market.
