Financial Watchdogs Call for Vigilance in Wake of N. Korea Nuke Test

South Korean financial watchdogs have held a meeting to check what kind of impacts North Korea's fourth nuclear test may pose to the local market.

During the meeting between senior officials of the Financial Services Commission and the Financial Supervisory Service on Thursday, FSC chief Yim Jong-yong stressed the significance of proper risk management as he cited rising uncertainties.

Yim called for vigilance as he noted that the risks over North Korea’s nuclear weapons program could change due to Pyongyang’s announcement it had tested a hydrogen bomb. He added that worries over China’s falling growth rates intensified external uncertainties.
