Hyundai Motor Group posted record high sales in the United States last year.

The South Korean automaker said Wednesday that Hyundai Motor Company sold 760-thousand cars in the U.S. last year, up five percent from a year earlier, while its affiliate Kia Motors Corporation saw its U.S. sales jump by seven-point-nine percent to 625-thousand during the same period.

The combined sales of Hyundai and Kia, at one-million-377-thousand, marked a six-point-two percent growth from 2014 and are the biggest ever since the group began selling cars in the U.S.

Their combined market share in the U.S. edged up from seven-point-nine percent in 2014 to seven-point-94 percent.

The Elantra, known as the Avante in South Korea, was the top selling Hyundai car in the U.S. last year at 220-thousand, followed by the Hyundai Sonata with 213-thousand models sold.
