3 Famous Snowboarders to Travel to N. Korea

Three world-famous snowboarders will travel to North Korea later this week.

Uri Tours, a U.S. travel agency that arranges tours to the North, said on its Web site that the three professional snowboarders, including Terje Håkonsen of Norway, will make the visit from Saturday.

The travel agency said the athletes’ 8-day trip will include a four-day stay at the Masikryong Ski Resort resort in Wonsan.

The agency said it arranged the tour in cooperation with U.S-based Snowboard Magazine.

The tour program is said to also feature a visit to downtown Pyongyang and the Demilitarized Zone. The snowboarders are expected to be provided with a helicopter when moving from Pyongyang to the ski resort, which opened on December 31, 2013.
