S. Korea, New Zealand to Boost Cooperation in Agriculture

South Korea and New Zealand will boost bilateral cooperation and exchanges in the agricultural sector, following the effectuation of their free trade agreement late last year.

The Ministry of Agriculture says that farmers’ children attending middle or high schools will be given opportunities to participate in vacation camps or cultural programs in New Zealand.

Four South Korean students in PhD programs on agricultural science will receive scholarships for up to three years, while disease and forestry experts will have options to study and receive training at New Zealand institutions.

Students of agriculture high schools and colleges will be eligible to receive New Zealand visas that will allow them to take language or vocational training courses.

In addition, South Korean and New Zealand epizootic authorities will hold annual workshops.
