Transportation Ministry to Begin Safety Inspections on Budget Airlines

The government will probe low cost airlines due to rising safety concerns following a recent series of flight glitches.

The Transportation Ministry said it will start from Jin Air after one of its planes flying from Cebu to Busan was forced to turn back due to a problem on one of its doors.

South Korea has six low cost carriers: Jin Air, Air Busan, Jeju Air, Eastar Jet, T’way Air and Air Incheon.
