Kim Jong-un Open to Talks with All Interested in Unification

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has expressed willingness regarding inter-Korean dialogue in his New Year's message.

In the verbal message delivered on the North's Korean Central Television on Friday, Kim said his country will make aggressive efforts to hold talks and improve relations with South Korea.

He said that he's willing to sit down with anyone for a candid talk who sincerely hopes for peace and unification of the Korean people.

But he also accused the South of colluding with foreign powers to seek a regime change and institutional unification and thereby escalating mistrust and confrontation.

Kim also called on Seoul to honor the inter-Korean agreement reached in August and refrain from any actions that go against the deal or spoil a mood for dialogue.

Unlike last year, the North Korean leader did not remark on the regime's nuclear ambitions. However during the speech, footage of submarine-launched ballistic missile tests was shown on TV, possibly hinting at further provocations.
