100 Richest S. Koreans Hold More than 100 Trillion Won in Stock

The combined stockholdings of the 100 richest South Koreans has exceeded 100 trillion won for the first time.

Conglomerate tracker Chaebul.com said Thursday that as of Wednesday's close, the richest 100 had 103-point-82 trillion won in stock.
 
Based on the closing price at the end of each year, stock owned by the top 100 were worth 66-point-two trillion won in 2011 and 92-point-six trillion won last year.
 
Four entrepreneurs saw their stockholdings increase by more than one trillion won this year: AmorePacific Group Chairman Suh Kyung-bae, Hanmi Pharmaceutical Chairman Lim Sung-ki, Hanyang Precision Chairman Shin Dong-guk and CJ Group Chairman Lee Jay-hyun.
 
Biotechnology and cosmetics stocks shot up this year, boosting the assets of major shareholders.
