Air Passenger Traffic Grows 14% in November

Written: 2015-12-30 08:44:42Updated: 2015-12-30 08:45:46

Air passenger traffic jumped 14 percent last month thanks to a growth in flights by low-cost carriers as well as an increase in the number of inbound tourists.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said Wednesday that passenger demand on international flights grew 13-point-seven percent on year to five-point-22 million in November.

Passenger demand for domestic flights rose 15 percent on year to two-point-44 million due to a rise in travel to the southern resort island of Jeju.

The transport ministry expects a further increase in passenger demand stemming from an increase in the number of air routes and tourists visiting the nation.
