2016 Minimum Wage Increases to 6,030 Won per Hour

The Finance Ministry has announced planned changes for the new year in regulations and services.
 
Next year’s minimum wage will increase eight-point-one percent to six-thousand-30 won an hour, or one-point-26 million won per 40 hours a week.
 
Starting in June next year, mobile operators will be required to notify their subscribers when they exceed the monthly usage limit of voice calls and text messages. Currently, the notification service is only applied data usage.
 
The government will offer financial support for artificial cartilage implants for the knees of elderly people over 65 years living in a four-member household with a monthly income of under two-point-63 million won.
 
Starting next year, health insurance will be applied to 134 test items under the genetic test for the treatment of cancer and rare diseases.
 
The age restriction for state subsidies for workers from low-income households will be lowered to 50 from the current 60.
