The number of flights at Incheon International Airport has topped 300-thousand this year for the first time.
The Incheon International Airport Corporation said Saturday that the annual figure surpassed the 300-thousand mark as of Friday.
The annual number of flights stood at just over 86-thousand-800 in the airport's first year in 2001.
Posting annual average growth of seven-point-two percent, the figure recorded over 290-thousand in 2014 before reaching 300-thousand this year.
International flights accounted for the majority at 295-thousand-273 with domestic flights at over 47-hundred.
Arriving flights numbered over 150-thousand and departures around 150-thousand.
The airport corporation said that the figures took a hit in July and August during the outbreak of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, but was compensated thanks to measures such as reductions on landing fees and facility use charges.
Incheon Airport currently has a capacity of handling 410-thousand flights a year. The corporation said the opening of a second passenger terminal will further accelerate growth.
