N. Korea Accuses US of Blaming North for Mine Explosion

North Korea claims that it was blamed for the land mine explosion in August near the inter-Korean border as part of a scheme by the United States.

The North's official Korean Central News Agency said Thursday that South Korean authorities initially acknowledged that the mines blew up after being lost in heavy rains.

The North accused the U.S. for plotting a wicked scheme to blame the incident on Pyongyang to resume anti-North psychological warfare.

A joint investigation team formed by South Korea's defense ministry announced North Korea was responsible for the incident citing that debris of the explosions matched that of North Korea's wooden-box land mines.
