Parts of geological formations and columnar joints along the rivers of Hantan and Imjin have been certified as the nation’s seventh national geopark.
 
The government issued the certification for the formations which had been jointly applied for by Yeoncheon county and Pocheon city. 
 
The environment minister issues the certifications for sites that are geo-scientifically significant or have remarkable scenery.
