The Unification Ministry has published a 2015 directory listing the names of figures from North Korea’s key organizations.
In this year’s directory, Kim Kyung-hee was not listed. Kim is the aunt of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and the wife of Kim’s uncle, Jang Song-thaek, who was executed in 2013.
Before her husband was executed, Kim served as a member of the Politburo of the Workers’ Party of Korea, a secretary of the ruling party and headed the light industry division of the party’s economic policy audit department.
A government official in Seoul said it is certain that Kim has stepped down from all official posts since the death of her husband.
Meanwhile, the new directory listed the North Korean leader’s date of birth as January 8, 1984. Previously, the year had been written as unknown.
The directory also labeled Hwang Pyong-so, director of the North Korean military's General Political Bureau, as being the vice chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea Central Military Commission.
