LG Electronics to Air Super Bowl Ad

LG Electronics said Friday that it has secured one of the 50 advertising slots for the upcoming Super Bowl.

The South Korean electronics giant said an ad for its flat-screen OLED TV will air during the 50th Super Bowl on February 7.

The company said famed director Ridley Scott, whose works include “The Martian” and “Gladiator,” will produce the ad.

The U.S.' National Football League (NFL) championship game, the Super Bowl, is famous for the high costs of its advertisements. The 49th Super Bowl last February attracted around 200 million viewers worldwide.

Super Bowl ads vary in cost depending on when the ads air, with the most expensive time slot charging five-million dollars per 30 seconds.
