A domestic research team has developed a technology to obtain biological or health information from samples of tears or sweat.

A team led by Lee Hyun-jeong, a doctor at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology, announced that it developed a more safe and efficient enzyme electrode, using nano-electro and bio materials.

The team explained that the bio-sensing technology can be applied to a wearable device that will effectively analyze various health-related indicators from samples of tears, sweat or saliva.

The achievement was published in the online edition of the international journal, Advanced Materials, on December 14.
